The project is located in the city of Jiaxing which is representative of water town in South China. The original hotel and its facilities are abandoned for many years and lacks connectivity with the water. We try to reshape the planning by engaging the river into the site and create a resort that features water. The entire site is composed of several islands connected by bridges. The buildings on each island are organized around courtyards in a way that suits the best for strolling experiences. The architecture and landscape design also focuses on creating places with the traits of the traditional Chinese gardens in a contemporary way.
